[ That confusion wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon, although the fact that Tighnari - he’s pretty sure that’s Tighnari, but he is definitely not a rabbit, he’s some sort of tiny fox with huge ears Sylvain has never heard of or seen before - the fact that he speaks at least answers one unasked question.

Before he can open his mouth to ask the next, that tail brushes under his chin, fur soft and teasing against his own. Which is when that scent hits him.

Sylvain's experienced several of the casino’s perfumes and serums and other things by this point. Most of them he considers fun and playful and doesn’t mind their effects much at all. But this scent, although he doesn’t know what to call it, hits him differently. It stirs something in him, something primal and hungry, as if his human mind can’t process it, but this strange furred body he’s in knows exactly what it is. And he wants it, whatever it is.

He barely has time to register any of that before Tighnari’s tail gives another flick in his direction, teasing or maybe a challenge offered, and then darts off through the trees.

He’s giving chase before he even processes any of that, ears pricked forward and nose following that tantalizing scent which makes it hard to focus, to think. Which is probably for the best, because his body is working better when his human mind isn’t there to trip up over which foot goes where and when as he dashes off in pursuit.

Eventually, he gives up trying to make sense of this at all and just sinks into whatever’s happening. Whether it's magic or something else, he doesn’t know, but with that scent tantalizing him with every lungful of air he takes now as he pursues the other fox, it’s getting harder and harder to focus on the things he should be thinking about when all his mind wants to focus on is hunting down that scent. Make Tighnari stop fleeing and evading him as he tries to keep pace in the overgrown jungle he chases him through. Catching him and making him hold still, because maybe then any of this will make sense.

Or so some instinctual part of him seems convinced of, because chasing, catching the other fox quickly becomes to most prominent and then the only pressing thought in his mind. ]
