[ This type of terrain is nothing like what Sylvain is used to, but his body and instincts seem to know what to do all the same. And while the smaller fox is far more nimble and agile - faster, even, as he scrambles through the thick overgrowth, using their surroundings to his advantage - Sylvain still manages to keep pace. Somehow. Even if he has to get inventive a few times when Tighnari pops through a space he’ll never be able to squeeze through himself.

A few times, he almost lost the trail, or had to divert around a tree or a rock when Tighnari chose a path he couldn’t follow. But that scent was like a siren’s call now, urging him on, faster. The whole scope of his world narrowing down to his pursuit. Even as, inch by inch, he closed the distance between them. Focused on his prey.

Something made all the easier when Tighnari finally broke free of the thick plant growth and slipped out into an open grassy grove. Here, Sylvain’s pace could finally eat up the space between them, putting them on more equal footing. His eyes are dark and intent in focus and he playfully snaps at Tighnari’s tail when it comes within range, leaping up and to the side. Herding the other fox away from the edge of this little glade and back towards the center, where he couldn’t use the jungle against him. If he could keep him in the open, he could catch him, so anytime Tighnari got too close to the trees again, Sylvain was there, cutting off his route and herding him back away again. ]
